The team management has decided to include Sarfaraz Khan in the final eleven in place of Shubman Gill.

According to the BCCI report, Shubman Gill could not be a part of the Bengaluru Test match due to a neck problem. Recently, he had shown signs of returning to form by scoring a century against Bangladesh. But he had to be dropped from the team due to being unfit. At the same time, it is now expected that Shubman Gill will return fully fit before the second match. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India has not given any update regarding this.

Indian batsmen flopped badly

If we talk about the performance of the Indian team in the first test match of IND vs NZ, then while batting first, Rohit Sharma and company fell like a pack of cards in front of New Zealand. India lost nine wickets for just 40 runs. During this, Rishabh Pant contributed 20 runs and Yashasvi Jaiswal contributed 13 runs. No other batsman could even touch the double digit mark. Virat Kohli, Sarfaraz Khan, KL Rahul, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja could not even open the account.
