Joe Root: 
England’s dashing batsman Joe Root continues 
to perform well in Test cricket. Batting aggressively in the first match of the 3-match Test series against Pakistan, he scored the 35th century of his Test career. With this, he has come to the sixth position in terms of scoring the most centuries in the history of Test cricket. With this century, he has left behind Sunil Gavaskar , 
Brian Lara , Mahela Jayawardene and Younis Khan in terms of centuries.

In the first Test match between Pakistan and England (PAK vs ENG) being played at the Multan ground, the host team was all out for 556 runs in the first innings. After this, the English batsmen also gave a tough lesson to the Pakistani bowlers. After Jack Crowley’s 78 and Ben Duckett’s 84 runs, Joe Root scored the 35th century of his Test career on the third day of this Test match. He completed his century in 167 balls. Now he is just one century away from equaling Rahul Dravid’s record of most 36 Test centuries.

Did a big feat in the World Test Championship 

Apart from this century, Joe Root also made many other records in his name. He completed 5000 runs in the World Test Championship as soon as he scored 27 runs in the first innings against Pakistan. He has become the first batsman to do so. After Root, Australia’s Marnus Labuschagne has the highest number of runs. He has  scored 3904 runs in 45 matches of WTC .

Steve Smith  is at the third position with 3486 runs in 45 matches . Along with this, Root has also become the highest run-scorer in Test cricket for England. Before him, Cook had scored 12472 runs in 161 matches of his Test career at an average of 45. This record has also been broken by Root now.
