Indian fast bowler Mohammed Shami is working hard these days to return to the field. Shami is in the National Cricket Academy. Meanwhile, according to the news about the Indian pacer, he can play Ranji matches for Bengal. Shami can take the field for Ranji Trophy before returning to Team India with full fitness. 

Actually Shami has been included in Bengal’s 31-member probable list for the upcoming domestic season. According to media reports, Mohammed Shami, who is working hard to recover from injury, is very close to making a comeback. Before India’s tour of Sri Lanka, Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar had said that Shami has started bowling and the Test series against Bangladesh in September will be his goal. Now it will be interesting to see through which series Shami is able to make a comeback in Team India. 

Earlier this month, PTI reported that Shami might play the first two Ranji matches for Bengal, which are to be held against Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The match against Uttar Pradesh will be held from October 11 and against Bihar from October 18. However, no official information has been revealed yet regarding Shami’s return.

Let us tell you that Mohammed Shami played his last match in the ODI World Cup final in November 2023. Since then he has not been able to return to the field. Shami is away from cricket due to ankle injury. Earlier he tried to make a comeback without surgery, but could not succeed and ultimately had to undergo surgery. The Indian pacer underwent surgery in February 2024. Now it will be interesting to see when Shami returns to the field.
