RCB is completely out of the playoff race after a crushing 12-run defeat at the hands of UP Warriors in the 18th match of WPL 2025. With this, their dream of winning the WPL title for the second time was shattered. It was very important for RCB to win the match against UP Warriors to stay in the playoff race, but Mandhana and company collapsed for just 213 runs while chasing the big target.

RCB is out after defeat

It was very important for RCB, captained by Smriti Mandhana, to win this match to defend the title and keep alive the hopes of making it to the playoffs. Batting first, UP Warriors scored a mammoth score of 225 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs, in which Georgia Voll’s unbeaten innings of 99 runs off 56 balls and Kiran Navgire’s stormy innings of 46 runs off 16 balls played an important role.

Chasing a target of 226 runs, RCB was scoring runs fast from the beginning, but their wickets were also falling at the same pace, and in the end, RCB’s entire innings was reduced to 213 runs in 19.3 overs. For RCB, Richa Ghosh scored 69 runs in 33 balls and Sneh Rana scored 26 runs in 6 balls, but she could not help her team cross the threshold of victory in this important do-or-die match. However, despite this victory, UP Warriors have been eliminated from the playoffs.

These teams qualified

In the clash for the WPL 2025 trophy between five teams, UP Warriors and defending champions RCB are now officially out of the playoff race. At the same time, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, and Gujarat Giants have qualified for the playoffs, but it is not yet decided which team will be at what position in the points table. According to the current points table, Delhi Capitals is currently in the top position with 10 wins in 7 matches.

At the same time, Gujarat Giants are in second place after winning 4 out of 7 matches and Mumbai Indians are in third place with 4 wins in 6 matches. Let us tell you that whichever team finishes this tournament at number one position will directly enter the final, while the eliminator match will be played between the second and third-placed teams.
