Just before the New Zealand match, Virat Kohli scored a century against Pakistan. After which the fans hoped that Virat could perform something special in his 300th match. But Virat Kohli broke the heart of the whole country. However, even after this, a special record has been registered in Virat’s name. 

Virat Kohli played his 300th ODI match

The last group match against New Zealand in the Champions Trophy 2025 is Virat Kohli’s 300th ODI match. However, Virat could not perform anything special in this match. Kohli scored 11 runs in 14 balls at a strike rate of 78. Which two fours also came off Virat’s bat? But then Virat was caught out by Glenn Phillips on Matt Henry’s ball. However, Glenn Phillips took a brilliant catch of Virat. Virat Kohli has scored 14085 runs in 300 ODI matches. In which Virat has 51 centuries and 73 half-centuries to his name.

Virat becomes the 7th stalwart

Virat Kohli has become the 7th player to play 300 ODI matches for India. Virat Kohli made his debut against Sri Lanka at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in August 2008. Sachin Tendulkar has played the most matches for India. Ahead of Virat in this list are Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Rahul Dravid, Mohammad Azharuddin, Sourav Ganguly, and Yuvraj Singh.

New Zealand needs to score 250 runs

Talking about the match, New Zealand decided to bowl first after winning the toss. Team India’s top order returned to the pavilion within 30 runs. After this Akshar Patel and Shreyas Iyer together handled the innings. Shreyas Iyer scored the most runs from India. Shreyas played an innings of 79 runs. Due to this Team India scored 249 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs. Matt Henry took the most 5 wickets from New Zealand.
