In the Champions Trophy 2025, Team India started the game like a strong team against Bangladesh. The bowlers of Team India, who came to bowl, took wickets one after the other. At one point in the match, it was believed that the Bangladesh team would not be able to play even half the overs and the bowlers of Team India would destroy Bangladesh before the score of 100 runs. But this did not happen, Team India’s old mistake and defeat again became the reason for a good performance for the opposing team. Due to this the Indian team was trolled a lot on social media even after the victory.

Team India won its first match of the Champions Trophy 2025. But even after the victory, Team India has been badly trolled for fielding. Despite Jasprit Bumrah not being in the squad, the bowlers did not let the batsmen of the opposing team stay. Half of Bangladesh’s team had returned to the pavilion when they scored 35 runs.

But then the phase of bad fielding of Team India started. First of all, a very easy catch slipped from the hands of captain Rohit. On the fourth ball of the 9th over of Bangladesh’s innings, captain Rohit Sharma dropped an easy catch of Zakir Ali in the first slip. Due to this Akshar Patel could not take his hat-trick. After which Zakir Ali kept the innings under control despite falling wickets and added 68 runs to his account. 

Then in Kuldeep’s 20th over, the ball slipped from Hardik Pandya’s hand. Hardik, who was at mid-off, gave Tauheed Hridoy a reprieve. This reprieve also proved costly for the team, Tauheed Hridoy scored 100 runs and put Bangladesh in a strong position. Then on the first ball of Ravindra Jadeja’s 23rd over, KL Rahul gave Jaker Ali his second reprieve of the match. KL missed an easy stumping. Indian team’s fielding is an example in world cricket, but due to this feat of the team against Bangladesh, Bangladesh managed to score 228 runs. If Team India keeps making mistakes in fielding like this, then it can create problems against strong teams.

To encourage the players, Team India’s fielding coach T Dilip gives the Best Fielder award to the player who does the best fielding in the team after every match. The Best Fielder award was given to KL Rahul after the Bangladesh match. KL Rahul’s name was announced on the big screen on the Dubai ground. Ravindra Jadeja put a medal on Rahul. KL Rahul took three catches during stumping, so he was given this award. KL took the catches of Tanjid Hasan, Soumya Sarkar, and Mushfiqur Rahim.
