Shubman Gill played a stormy innings

The Indian team made a great start to the three-match ODI series against England. On 6 February, both the teams faced each other for the first match in Nagpur. After winning the toss, Jos Buttler chose to bat first, which proved to be wrong for the team.

Phil Salt and Ben Duckett gave the team a good start by sharing 72 runs. After this, Jos Buttler and Jacob Bethell played half-century innings and took England’s score beyond 200. These two batsmen scored 52 runs and 52 runs respectively. The Indian team, which came out to chase the target of 249 runs given by England, did not have a good start. Yashasvi Jaiswal was out after scoring 15 runs and Rohit Sharma was out after scoring 2 runs.

After Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal returned to the pavilion, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, and Axar Patel took charge by playing half-century innings. These three batsmen gave a stormy performance by thrashing the bowlers. However, in the meantime, Shubman Gill missed out on completing his century, due to which Hardik Pandya had to face trolling. When he came to bat, India needed 24 runs to win and Shubman Gill needed 17 runs for a century. In such a situation, Hardik Pandya hit a six, after which Shubman Gill came under pressure and lost his wicket while playing the wrong shot. Due to this, the 31-year-old all-rounder had to face trolling.
