Actually, both Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja have been included in the squad, but based on Jadeja’s previous performance, questions were being raised on his place in the team, but by performed brilliantly against Saurashtra in the sixth round of Ranji Trophy 2024-25, he has not only confirmed his place in the playing eleven of Champions Trophy 2025 but has also given a befitting reply to his critics with his performance, the veterans who were questioning Jadeja’s selection till yesterday, are now not tired of praising him.

BCCI had issued a 10-point guideline and clearly stated that it would be mandatory for the players to play domestic cricket, after which Jadeja decided to play for Saurashtra and performed brilliantly in the very first match by taking 12 wickets in the match. In the first innings of this match played between Delhi and Saurashtra, Jadeja took 5 wickets for 66 runs, while in the second innings, this dashing bowler took the wickets of 7 Delhi batsmen for 38 runs in 12.2 overs.

Delhi collapsed for just 94 runs in the second innings in front of Jadeja’s lethal bowling, after which Saurashtra was given a target of 12 runs, which they easily achieved and won the match by 10 wickets. Let us tell you that Jadeja also played a strong innings of 38 runs in 36 balls in the first innings. With this, he has also staked a claim to play in the Champions Trophy 2025.

Earlier, many questions were raised by the selection of Ravindra Jadeja in the 15-member squad of Champions Trophy 2025. The veterans believed that any other player could have been given a chance in place of Jadeja, but after a strong performance in Ranji, this veteran all-rounder has shut the mouths of all the critics. Also, after this performance, he has also confirmed his place in the playing XI for the opening match against Bangladesh. Captain Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir may prefer Ravindra Jadeja over Axar Patel in the first match of Champions Trophy 2025, who has performed well on the big stage for India.
