Playing for Saurashtra, Ravindra Jadeja  wreaked havoc on the opposition team’s batsmen with his bowling. He managed to take seven wickets in the second innings of this match.

The second phase of Ranji Trophy 2024-25 started on 23 January. During this, a match was played between Saurashtra and Delhi at Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot. After winning the toss, Ayush Badoni chose to bat, after which his innings was reduced to 188 runs. It was Indian spinner Ravindra Jadeja who brought the Delhi team to such a condition. He took five wickets while spending 66 runs in 17.4 overs. During this, his economy rate was 3.74. Ravindra Jadeja took the wickets of captain Ayush Badoni, Sanat Sangwan, Harsh Tyagi, Jonty Sidhu and Navdeep Saini. 

In the second innings, the batsmen were destroyed 

Ravindra Jadeja, who took five wickets in the first innings, became even more dangerous in the second innings. He defeated Ayush Badoni’s Delhi team by taking seven wickets. During this, Indian wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant also could not escape from his clutches. He also surrendered in front of Ravindra Jadeja’s devastating balls. In the second innings, he took seven wickets in 12.2 overs. On the basis of this performance of Ravindra Jadeja, Saurashtra team managed to defeat Delhi by 10 wickets.

Talking about the match, Delhi team, which came to bat first after winning the toss, was all out for 188 runs. In response, Saurashtra scored 271 runs in the first innings and gained a lead of 83 runs. Batting in the second innings, Delhi team could not last long in front of Ravindra Jadeja’s deadly balls, due to which it scored only 94 runs on the scoreboard. Saurashtra’s opening batsmen made a partnership of 15 runs and took the team across the threshold of victory.
